Scott Lafranconi

Scott is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). He is a compassionate and experienced therapist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, parents, and families. He has been helping build the skills people need to overcome challenges for over 15 years.

Scott has a deep understanding of psychology, which he gained from his undergraduate and graduate studies at Santa Clara University and his work in various settings, including schools, community-based organizations, private practice, and Kaiser Permanent’s Child Psychiatry Department. Scott uses a blend of evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, and Family Systems, to tailor his treatment to each client’s needs and goals. He believes in building trust and collaboration with his patients and their families and empowering them to develop the skills they need to thrive.

Scott is also a passionate learner and adventurer. He is an adjunct professor in the Graduate Counseling Psychology Department at Santa Clara University, where he helps train the next generation of therapists.

Scott loves reading, hiking with his family, cooking, participating in Girl Scouts activities with his daughters, and wrenching on cars. Scott is committed to supporting your child and family to facilitate the change needed to thrive.
